ABOUT HEARTWOOD

Heartwood Biomass operates in two forest-dependent communities facing similar challenges: Wallowa County, Oregon and Tuolumne County, California. Once strong timber regions, both counties have experienced dramatic shifts due to changes in federal land management, decades of fire suppression, mill closures, and declining forest health. These pressures have strained local economies and increased wildfire risk across the landscapes we call home.

Our work in both locations supports restorative, science-based forest management that reduces hazardous fuels, improves forest resilience, and brings value from material that would otherwise be wasted or burned. By creating high-quality wood products and local jobs, we help strengthen the long-term economic and environmental health of our communities - building a more sustainable future for the people and forests of Northeast Oregon and the Sierra Nevada.
